Stifel announces proposed sale of 1.2 million shares through public offering

Stifel Financial Corp. announced Tuesday the proposed sale of 1.2 million shares of its common stock through a public offering.
Stifel, the parent of Stifel Nicolaus & Co., said the St. Louis financial services company will offer 1 million shares while Cincinnati-based Western and Southern Life Insurance Co. will offer the remaining 200,000 shares paydayloans.
The offer date wasn’t disclosed. The proceeds from the shares sold by Stifel will be used for general corporate purposes.
