Medicine Shoppe headquarters staff reduced by half
The number of workers at Medicine Shoppe’s Earth City headquarters will be slashed in half beginning August 7 due to a change in the business model initiated by its parent, Cardinal Health Inc.
Cardinal Health, located in Dublin, Ohio, will be laying off 109 Medicine Shoppe employees who work in marketing, accounting, legal, financial and other administrative areas.
Workers losing their jobs were notified on June 4 companies making payday loans.
In March, Cardinal, which offers products and services to hospitals, physician offices and pharmacies, said it would reduce its global work force by approximately 800 over six months and eliminate an additional 500 positions through normal attrition and not filling open jobs.
