Mosby Building Arts won a Homer Award from the Home Builders Association of Greater St. Louis & Eastern Missouri for a south St. Louis County exterior renovation. It also received an award of excellence from CertainTeed for that same project.
Glantz & Associates of Creve Coeur has been honored with a Homer Award for a custom home built in Tapawingo in Sunset Hills.
Thomas & Suit has been awarded a Homer Award for its Sassafras display home in Wyndgate Forest.
John G. Simon of the Simon Law Firm has received the Spirit of Justice Award from the St. Louis Bar Foundation for exemplary charitable spirit and service to the community and the profession.
GOING GREEN
Arcturis of St. Louis has been awarded LEED C1 Silver Certification for Commercial Interiors for its new headquarters in downtown St. Louis.
NEW BUSINESS
The Korte Co. of St. Louis has been awarded the design and construction of a 37,000-square-foot child development center for Beale Air Force Base outside of Marysville, Calif. The $11 million center will accommodate more than 300 children.
Geotechnology Inc. of St. Louis has been awarded a $1.59 million contract to provide drilling and lab testing from Kiewit Construction to support the construction of 476 bridges through the Missouri Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
OPENING
Clarkson Eyecare has acquired Kiefer WMF and Associates as its 43rd office in St. Louis, located at 4305 Butler Hill Road. The office opened to patients Sept. 28.
Henderson Law will be opening a St. Louis office at 7750 Clayton Road, Suite 102. The firm will be headed by attorney Mick Henderson.
The Chrysalis on Woodlawn, a bed and breakfast, has opened in Kirkwood. The Chrysalis is at 317 North Woodlawn Avenue.
PROJECTS
Rhodey Construction of St online payday loans. Louis has completed two renovation projects for the offices of Brennans OBGYN and St. Louis GI suite in the new St. Clare Medical Office Building in Fenton. Both projects were designed by The Lawrence Group Architects. Rhodey also was recently awarded the chiller replacement and new electrical substation project for GlaxcoSmithKline in the Tum’s building in downtown St. Louis.
RECOGNITION
Ferguson-based Emerson has been ranked first in effective investor relations programs in the U.S. by Greenwich Associates, an international consulting firm.
Faultless Laundry Co. of Soulard was named to Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing private companies’ 5000 list in the Business Products & Services Category for the second straight year.
David T. Johnson of American Family Insurance in Chesterfield has earned the Distinguished Insurance Agency distinction from J.D. Power and Associates.
John E. Campbell of the Simon Law Firm has been named a 2009 Up & Coming Lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. The award is given to attorneys under the age of 40 who merit recognition.
Paric of St. Louis has been ranked among the "Top 400 Contractors" in the nation by Engineering News Record. Paric was ranked 244th, up from 284th last year.
STORE OPENING
A new Aldi store in St. Louis opened to the public Thursday at 1033 Lemay Ferry Road, where a former Aldi store once stood.
